CISC, Kendall VW of Anchorage to partner to drive Alaska Youth forward

ANCHORAGE (May 11, 2021) – Cook Inlet Soccer Club (CISC) and Kendall Volkswagen of Anchorage are excited to announce a new partnership for the benefit of Alaska youth. This partnership is a huge milestone in helping CISC carry out its mission to administer the best competitive and recreational youth soccer programs in the state, mentor the next generation of community leaders and help Alaskans develop healthy lifestyle habits through playing the beautiful game.

Kendall Auto is a family-owned business and prides itself on giving back to the communities its customers and employees live, work, and play in. Through the Kendall Cares program, Kendall dealerships support local non-profits and community initiatives. Since coming to Alaska in 2008, its dealerships across the state have supported non-profit work in the following areas – youth development, health and wellness, fighting hunger, and military appreciation. Partnering with CISC is a perfect fit for Kendall Volkswagen of Anchorage as CISC’s mission aligns with Kendall’s community goals and because Volkswagen is the presenting partner of U.S. Soccer. “Soccer is the People’s Sport and Volkswagen is the People’s Car,” said Scott Keogh, President and CEO, Volkswagen Group of America.

As a major partner, the Kendall Volkswagen of Anchorage logo will appear on the front of every recreational jersey and includes naming rights to CISC’s recreational tournament open to programs throughout the state. The automobile partner will also have a presence at game and training nights and on CISC’s social media and digital channels.

A significant portion of the new resources afforded to CISC by Kendall Volkswagen of Anchorage will go towards helping CISC administer its recreational and competitive programs, educate coaches, purchase equipment, provide scholarships, and bring new soccer-playing and youth-development opportunities to the state.

“We are extremely excited to work with Kendall Volkswagen of Anchorage. Through partnerships like this, CISC can have a greater impact, serve more Alaskans and help propel Alaska soccer to the next level,” said CISC board member Dylan Faber. We look forward to the next level this partnership will allow CISC, and Alaska soccer as a whole, to reach and are grateful to have Kendall Volkswagen of Anchorage as a major partner and contributor toward our shared goals.”

“Having the opportunity to partner with CISC and support its excellent youth soccer program is very exciting for us. This partnership aligns perfectly with Kendall Volkswagen of Anchorage’s community goals of promoting healthy lifestyles and youth development,” said Kendall Auto Alaska’s Community Relations Manager, John Guintu. “I grew up playing youth soccer for CISC and many of the skills I’ve used throughout my education and career – communication, teamwork, discipline – can be traced back to the CISC soccer coaches that mentored me.”

With this new partnership, CISC is better equipped to serve Alaska youth and live up to its mission of delivering the best recreational and competitive soccer programs in the state. For information and opportunities to partner with CISC, please email pr@ciscsoccer.org.
